Hello fellow geeks,
First of all, happy new year! We hope you all had a wonderful festive season (well... as much as we're allowed, all things considered) and that you are keeping yourselves safe and well.
Apologies for our absence in January, the newly imposed lockdown has had us having to take extra care in looking after our mental health and having a well earned break, which we're sure you can understand. Lots of rest and relaxation has definitely been had!
With all the uncertainty of the future of the high streets and when we can reopen again, we want to take this opportunity to thank you for all your support during this last 12 months. Whether that be making a purchase online or in store, liking and sharing posts or recommending friends to us - we appreciate it more than you can imagine.
This month we are going to be doing a series of blog features regarding our new brand reps! This week we meet Lyndsey, who runs the stunning Instagram page, @quillandquaffles. We first started following Lyndsey's account a couple of years ago. Her bright and colourful feed really caught our eye!
The first item she purchased from us was the Weasley Is Our King notebook when we held our annual sale on Facebook and we absolutely fell in love with the aesthetic she gave to such a simple item. What do you think?

First of all, do you solemnly swear you are up to no good? "Always." How long have you been a Harry Potter fan? "I've been a fan for around 20 years! I was 13 when the first film came out and a Youth Group took us to see it at the cinema. I fell in love with it from the second Dumbeldore used the Deluminator in Privet Drive and we got that first glimpse of magic!" When did you start collecting and what was your first piece? "My first conscious bit of collecting was the Gringotts savings book and coin collection that ASDA released in 2001. Every week, my Mum and Dad would let me and my twin sister choose a pack of coins during the weekly food shop until we'd completed our collections. Its one of my most favourite memories ever." What is your favourite piece in your collection? "The Gringotts savings book is definitely the most special. My favourite would have to be my Hogs head pitcher though as it feels like it was taken straight from the Great Hall."
What is on your wishlist? "It's always going to be the full sized broomsticks! More realistically though, the Sword of Gryffindor letter opener." Which is your favourite book and/or movie? "My favourite book is the Half Blood Prince. The visits into the memories of Tom Riddle's back story are my favourite parts of the whole story. My favourite movie is Deathly Hallows part 1. I love the road trip feel to it all and we get to go to Malham!!" Why did you want to become a brand rep for The Geek Side? "I visited The Geek Side in 2019 and fell in love with it! The whole shop is just full of magic and so is Zoe! I'm such a Yorkshire girl and I'm so proud of The Geek Side bringing all the magic to our beautiful county so I wanted to support that."
What is your favourite Harry Potter item at The Geek Side? "Always the Broomsticks! I've been promised a feel of one the next time I visit." What are you hoping to purchase next from The Geek Side?
"The Fantastic Beasts MinaLima notebook or the Hardback Hufflepuff Order of the Phoenix."
